Spyro: Legacy of Ages Film

Well, now that SFA has a new beginning I can set up this post and announcement properly.
Attention... The orginal Spyro storyline will be continued in the form of a feature length movie in Fall 2008. I am making the announcement here because my company is the one producing the project. The film is called Spyro: Legacy of Ages and it will feature a more mature Spyro and company in an adventure that spans two timelines.
The fan favorite characters of Bianca and Elora will return in the film and the screwed up storyline will be repaired. New elements will be dropped into the Spyro universe and the search for Spyro's TRUE ORIGINS (Not the Legend of Spyro version) will begin. The best thing about the project is that the new film models of Spyro and his friends will return to their original A Hero's Tale look. The voices of each character will also be very similar to the original voices from the older games. Of course Spyro will sound a tad bit older considering the fact that this film continues the storyline six months after A Hero's Tale. Some of Shadow Legacy will be hinted at as well.
As for this new game.... well.... elements from Legend of Spyro will be vaguely hinted at and I do mean vaguely due to the fact this universe is not really linked to the original one. I have worked out a way to merge the new universe and the original in a unique way but that will have to wait to the Fall 2011 movie. The Legacy of Age film will kick off a brand new era for Spyro and his friends as they face brand new enemies in epic storyline that includes this film, a new trilogy of games called HEROES and the second 2011 film, Spyro: Legacy of Ages: Revelation Destiny (Woriking Title).
Well, even if this game doesn't turn out well you guys still have the 2008 film to look forward to. The film WILL use the original storyline of Spyro and add some much needed depth and character development.
Here is the Film Opening Tag Line from Oracle, the New Dragon Elder...
"In every generation there are those who are born to be heroes...
The path of a hero is not an easy one.
Many fail...
Many succeed...
However, they come to be they exist.
Some are chosen by destiny.... Others, like Spyro, forge their OWN destinies with their kind hearts and courageous soul.
But ultimately, in the end, a true hero is not a hero born of destiny...
No...
A true hero is born when someone takes a stand and makes a choice to be a beacon of hope and light to those who are lost in the endless night.
For in the darkest hour of every Age these heroes of light will be there to guide those lost in the darkness back to the light...

So I imagine Ember will be in it in some way, she'll still be in her "obsessed with Spyro" stage then, if you look at the timeline. Perhaps you could beef up her character, that seems to be needed imo.

That sounds really good. I can't wait to see it! Why do you have to say 2008 and 2011. You make it sound so far away.

She'll be in the film alright but she'll be handled in much more mature way. The film takes six months after A Hero's Tale and three months after a modified version of Shadow Legacy. I am still debating whether or not to put Bandit in the film. Also, if anyone has ever wondered what Spyro, Ember and Flame would look like as adults well you'll get a chance to see them in their adult forms briefly during the subplot of the film which takes place 34 years in the future. The biggest thing about the film is that Spyro begins to ask questions about his origins. He wants to know where he came from and that question will lead him on a quest that will reach its conclusion in the Dragon of Destiny series. The elements from A New Beginning won't appear here. I, however, plan to intergrate the Legend of Spyro storyline into the original series by setting Legend as prequel that took place centuries before the current Spyro was born.
In other words, the Spyro in Legend is the present day Spyro's ancestor. Cynder still lives and she will make her debut in Dragon of Destiny. As for the Dark Master... He'll be around. By the way, the first season of Dragon of Destiny will reach its end this Sunday with Episode 13. Season Two, which will introduce Cynder, begins on Oct. 25th.
Oh... here some more info on the film including the lyrics for the main theme song:
"Legacy of Ages" Version One of the Main Theme
"The Journey has just begun... Nobody knows... Where are you going...
To know the future... You must first discover your past... Where do you come from? What is your destiny?
Legacy of Ages... Spyro... Legacy of Ages.. Spyro...
(Brief Instrumental)
Season come and Season go... But the more things change the more they stay the same...
The future starts right here and now.... Right here and now...
Legacy of Ages... Unlock the secrets of the Past Legacy of Ages And discover your future... Legacy of Ages (echoes twice)
Your jouney has... Just begun...
Legacy of Ages (repeats once) Spyro.... (echoes) Legacy of Ages...

This film is going to be a movie as in dvd/vcd/vhs type film. I am ultimately shooting for a theatrical release for the film. The level of the quality of the film that my company is shooting for is very detailed 3d animation. The website for the film is being worked on presently and it will launch next month sometime. I welcome anyone here the chance to ask me questions. I will be making a special podcast recording to answer those questions. Also, video behind the scenes look at the making of Legacy of Ages is in the planning stages for early next year.

Artwork from the film is up on Spyroforum.com but it isn't accessible at the moment. I have the files up on http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9DTSFYNE
Go there to download the files to get a first glance at the rough drawings of what will be used in the film.

I'm not quite shure how to do this. I'll try I'm really excited to see what you've got. Unfortunately the computer I'm on right now is really really painfully slow.
